Bedtime with Creativity AND Cats

Last night I had to turn the light back on FOUR TIMES before I finally successfully went to bed.

• The first time, as soon as my head hit the pillow, the creative brain said, "Hey, how about this bit of dialog for that scene?" and barfed a few lines into my head. I keep a notebook (actually a few notebooks) next to the bed so I can jot these things down. So, minimal fuss, but does require turning the light back on.
• The second time, as soon as my head hit the pillow, the Smudge took a stroll across the keyboard, waking the computer up, turning mute off, and cranking the volume all the way up. Nothing was playing, but my Mac makes that little blip of a noise as you change volume levels. I put the keyboard somewhere she couldn't get to.
• The THIRD time, as soon as my head hit the pillow, creative brain showed up again, and said, "Hey, how about adding a scene like this to that part there?" and splashed a bunch of stuff across the inside of my skull. This in particular was pretty helpful in solving some issues as I steer a short story towards its end. 
• The FOURTH time, as SOON as my HEAD hit the PILLOW, Smudge failed her "jump" check in getting onto the bed. At least, that's what I think happened. There was a series of jingles that is distinctly her collar's bell, and a soft, confused thud on the floor. By the time I got the light back on, she was in the middle of the room again, acting like nothing happened. At 19 years old, Smudge is my elder stateswoman granny kitty, and while she's in good shape for her age, she doesn't have the jumping power she used to have. I help her out by having things like cat stairs, or a few things she can climb up to get to higher places. But something got in the way of one route to the bed (an orange cat), and something got moved a little too far for the alternate route.

Today is a mix of appointments, working on a commission, and hopefully writing out those bedtime ideas more thoroughly.
