Neither the painting nor the short story advanced by much distance yesterday. They're both in that vague, hard-to-define middle stage, where things are looking good, but there's still a ways to go, and instead of making a few leaps on the barely-touched parts, I keep picking at the existing parts, getting them closer to "done." It's not perfectionism – all of the work I've done needs to be done. But I've GOT to sketch in a better look at the ending of this story, and I've GOT to block in some sense of the background on this painting.
Smudge is full of beans; she got her appetite stimulant today. One of these days I'm going to catch that meyow on video or audio. When that day comes, I promise I'll share. It's a mighty thing to behold. In other news, my friend's mother sent me a hat! I love it. I think it goes very nicely with this coat and the scarf my cousin made. And that's all for today,
